Ted Turner takes lithium or the equivalent to treat his bipolar disorder.

OK, I did not know that.

I agree, the news media spent too much time try to sell and move product and not enough time to present voices that are not so mainstream and part of the State Department.

After the fall of the Soviet Union we were being told that Huge amounts of weapons grade nuclear material was on the black market and that Saddam and other Arabs likely bought some of the suitcase nukes that came up missing from the former Soviet Union. Immediately after 9/11 the State Department said "NO WAY OSAMA HAS ANY KIND OF NUCLEAR WEAPONS" considering how easy a radiological bomb is to make this statement is absolutely absurd. An intelligent and informed public would have laughed the people responsible for that non sense out of office. Just a few weeks later we are then told that "maybe they do have nuclear capabilities". Now we are hearing about it all the time. I just don't have much sympathy these days for people who believe what they hear on TV.

Do you get the feeling that Colin Powell and comments such as Ms. Blair and Ted are part of a "good Cop.Bad Cop" routine?

I do not believe that these people, except perhaps Ted, are just allowed to say what they wish to.

Ted is an independently wealthy manic depressive. I guess he can say what ever he is in the mood to say.

In the White House I think every one of importance is reading a script more or less. Some lefties I know like to think that Powell does things against the grain and out of principal. When I hear them talk in detail they don't make a lot of sense to me. I suspect a good cop bad cop routine with Bush and Powell all throughout the War on terrorism.

As far as Ms Blair goes, I am highly suspicious of the timing of her comments. Why has she waited until now to speak up if she really believes what she says? I can't help but wonder if her comments have more to do with helping to drive the Dollar down to Parity with the Euro, or possibly because the Blairs are worried that London might be included in the next 9/11. I am in regular contact with business people from Vienna, London and Budapest. About 6 weeks ago many of them were saying that every one they knew was fleeing dollar investments. They were talking about the Euro being worth more than the dollar soon and that another 9/11 was likely in America because of the weakness in the stock market and the economy. Londoners seem worried that they may be included in such an attack. I think the Blairs are looking out for themselves. Today the best exchange rate on the streets in Budapest was 1.00816. €/$
Maybe the banks had a better rate today, if so it is a major exception. Unlike most big cities the best rates for currency exchange in Budapest is always on the street.
