All I read about in the news now is a concern over a 4-July terrorist act. I think the Dow and Nasdaq will trade flat or down (with a small rally or two) until we get past it without incident. With no 4-July incident I think there will be a mid-summer rally, then the news will be about concern over another attack on 9/11, and the cycle will repeat. That and government prosecutors taking down all the corporations they can doesn't bode well for stocks, but I don't personally think it will be another 50% for the Dow, as you suggest.

We're not hearing much about it in the press yet, but Bush and the Republicans have to be sweating about the continued problems with the equity markets. The economy may show signs of improving, but if folks' mutual funds and retirement accounts continue to tank, the Dems may do well in November.

INTC had 100% YOY earnings growth in Q1 '02, and may realize 100%+ YOY earnings growth in Q2. Keep this up, and INTC may get back in the $20s. ;-)
