I sent the following note to CNBC Squawk Box this morning.

Gentlemen:

On Friday's Squawk Box show David Faber seemed utterly baffled that rollout of Qualcomm's version of 3G technology, which is their CDMA2000, is underway, and that Qualcomm is seeing strong demand for these products. For your info, there are already 10 million subscribers with a rapid uptake underway. Here is a link to a website that has info on what is currently deployed: 3gtoday.com

Notice that the website is not about what may occur at some distant point in the future, but is a summary of what is CURRENTLY deployed! Note that besides the networks launched in Korea and Japan, Verizon has now launched in the U.S. Sprint has announced that they plan to launch a nationwide CDMA2000 network this summer.

Pay no attention to Europe - it is a backwater. Look to Asia and the Americas to get the real picture on 3G deployment. If you do, you will be able to scoop the other finance shows on the real story!
