I don't know your friend and am not judging him, but your post raised some questions in my mind. Is your friend born again? Can he be if he doesn't accept that Jesus is God? Has he asked Jesus into his heart? Read the beginning of the gospel of John to see the deity of Jesus. Read Romans 10:8-11 about being born again. We can believe all sorts of incorrect things and still be born again. But Jesus said we must be born again. Living a "Christian" life doesn't do it alone and I wonder how he feels about the born again experience.
