X Y Zebra ... Due some prejudice on the thread 4 years ago I have been
reluctant to join this year. This was not from you XYZ.

However, after reading the thread this year, there are a few opinions I wish to share.

Before WC.
The order of my sentimental picks......Germany (a rebuilding team with key injuries), Italy, USA.
Likely from here, ......Brazil - S. Korea and Germany - Turkey.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. I agree with the majority of opinions concerning the referees...foreign chat forums are less kind
than SI.
2. Germany will need to score three goals to win 1:0 versus S. Korea.
3. The WC was too early ... key players from Valencia, Madrid, Leverkusen, etc. are tired and
somewhat injured,Figo, Zidane, Raul, Ballack. UEFA games and Champions Cup.......
4. For Spanish fans ... FIFA LAW #9 ... The ball is out when:
" It (the ball) has wholly crossed the goal line whether on
the ground or in the air". Obviously the ball was far from out.
5. I am amazed that someone claiming Italian background, where family and especially the mother,
are sacred, would use this to attempt making a point by insulting some else's family and mother.
Where exactly does this fit with WC.
6. Four years ago you gave a recipe for Chimichuri (sp?)...In the last 4 years
there has not been one BBQ where we have not used this. My kids love it and a close
soccer friend from Argentina was delighted I knew about it ........ Thank you!, XYZ.
7. Unfortunately, because the pressure to succeed, many "soccer strong nations" seem to force their
teams to play "not to loose" rather than to win.. defensively. Not the case with Brazil, Senegal, S. Korea
Turkey, USA.....and the first Germany game.
8. The USA has 18 million soccer players. (That's more than Italy, Germany, England, France) combined.
(From FIFA.) American fans will hopefully, have some exiting times ahead.

Just some thoughts.........
