That's not true. The AP went all over Afghanistan trying to estimate civilian casualties, they came up with an estimate of 600 - 1200 if memory serves. It doesn't stop all the Chomskyites from citing much higher figures, however. (Whatever became of the "silent genocide" of 3 or 4 million Afghans, I wonder?)

Now, if you add in Taliban casualties, I'm sure the figures are much higher, but that's a different ball game.
