Yes, I've noticed Sharon exercising restraint a number of times over the past year or two. Course no way that could last forever when the bombings continue. Here's a little of what a scan pulled up:

"But if we know how to stand and clench our teeth," Sharon went on, "to continue even when tears fill our throats, we shall win."

Sharon's Strategy of Restraint
Jerusalem Post, March 22, 2002
Gerald M. Steinberg
Since taking office one year ago, Prime Minister Sharon's policies have been guided by two central principles -- unity at home, and cooperation with the United States abroad.  After the disasters of his Lebanon campaign twenty years ago, Sharon learned the centrality of both to Israeli security and to his own political survival.  Along the way, he acted with extraordinary restraint (the Hebrew term is "swallowing frogs" -- an appropriate phrase before the Passover seder) to maintain the national government and partnership with Shimon Peres.  In addition, on a number of occasions, Sharon has changed direction and adjusted his policies in order to avoid potential clashes with the Bush Administration....
