OFALX Olstein Financial Alert Fund if he really feels he must.

I might consider a closed end fund that has a large percentage of Australian bonds:FAX. It has done well lately and is one of the largest of the closed end funds so there is good liquidity. They are earning their dividend these days and Aberdeen is managing it better.

There are better gold funds than FSAGX but it may outperform if a mania begins. It is more conservative than others. It is my largest mutual fund position. Also Gabelli's gold fund could be a good choice.

Olstein's fund has faired well. There are huge cash positions in many mutual funds right now and the quarter is ending. Will they ante up to look good next quarter? The thought makes me shudder. OFALX would be my only choice and I think I'd think long about it.
