You mean this review?

The two Dell units performed almost identically on our PC WorldBench 4 tests, earning scores within 3 points of each other, though the Pentium III-M-based Inspiron 8100 had the edge with a score of 101 versus the 8200's 98. While this difference is small, we saw the same pattern repeated on our tests with Photoshop 6.0.1 and AutoCAD: The PIII-M-based 8100 consistently (albeit narrowly) beat its P4-M-based sibling. It's a bit disappointing that the P4-M-based system, running 500 MHz faster, merely kept pace with the PIII-M-based unit

LOL!!! Keep in mind that if they'd been testing the notebooks as notebooks, instead of plugged in, the P4 would have been running 1/3 slower.

They do their performance tests with the units plugged into the wall, with their little fans running full blast. Try running tests with an Intel based notebook that's been started up from battery - PIII or P4. Then compare it to a PowerNow AMD system.

A real issue is that the Athlon based notebooks currently shipping have low performance video cards. If what you use your notebook for is playing first person shooter games, then your best bet is to get a PIII or P4 notebook and a really long extension cord or keep a diesel generator running in your backpack.
