I believe that FIFA is slowly coming to terms with the fact that video taping with instant replay with so many camera angles is now revealing errors that undermine the credibility of officiating. I believe that errors have not increased and I don't believe anyone if fixing anything. But the ability to examine in detail every call confirms errors when the occur. The placement of cameras I'd guess has been honed by football coverage and it's use of replay. But that's American and futbol is not covered widely in America.

So with the ability of cameras to see every detail errors of officiating become far more evident. I'd guess FIFA will over time allow some kind of video reply. Or they may be pig headed and not. But it's only a game. The beautiful game.
