I agree. Panic for the retired fixed income folks began months ago....no yields, no dividend income to speak of. Only hope was to batten down the hatches and hope the equity side of the savings firmed up. Oops.

I have two aunts living on fixed incomes who have called to check in over the past couple of weeks. They are scared to death right now. Rolling CDs isn't doing it.
