Here's the scoop for TRIN5 > 9.0 -

Total of 9 occurrences since 1950: 1958, '62, '66, '74(2x), '82, '87, '97, and 2001.

In 7 of 9 instances, the price lows were coincident with the reading. Of these 7 instances, there was a retest of the lows with a higher low, 4 times. The other 3 times there was no retest.

And, of course the 2001 low was broken later in the year.

The 2 of 9 instances where the lows were not coincident with the 9.0 reading were the 2nd one in 1974 (which followed the 1st 9.0 and low point by about 6 wks., and the 1962 one in which a slightly lower low hit in about 3 wks.

So, odds are that if we see a >9.0 TRIN5 reading, it will be coincident with the price lows, and it will probably be followed by a retest in 3-6wks..
