Yes, Solon that is a lot of information and OPINION
ABOUT emotions, coming from a variety of people, and not necessarily agreeing, so I repeat:

How do you objectively evaluate
FEELING?"

and a new question:

What IS feeling?

Not information ABOUT it, but what it IS!! IS!!

(and by the way, there are many people who do NOT consider
thought to be the most primitive level of neural transmission; for example, the immune system works something like it has one choice to make: "me or not me"--
and this is not a CONSCIOUS process.)

Nice to hear from dear old Spinoza (desire/joy/sadness). Buddhism and the Vedas suggest lust, greed, anger; Adi Da uses fear, sorrow, anger relating to three basic character types.

My compliments on your scholarly response, however, but no cigar! <ggg>

Namaste!
Jim
