Jim, I gave an indirect answer because I don't think the problem is immigration. Nor is the problem going to be solved by old-school ways of thinking, whether it be liberal or conservative.

But because you asked:

1) Should the USA militarize it's borders...ie. patrol the borders with the armed forces?

What's the point? The bad guys are going to find a way in anyway. And even if we block all human travel in and out of America, we'll still have the home-grown terrorists to deal with. ELF, Mr. Anthrax, McVeigh, Columbine, etc.

2) Should the US shut down Middle east run charities that do fund raisers in the US and send the money to support middle east shenanigans?

To me, this is a slippery slope. Should we shut down a charity that does legitimate humanitarian work if it can be shown that 1% of its funds end up in the hands of the terrorists?

If the charity is engaging in a clear act of conspiracy, then it should be shut down. Beyond that, it's a judgement call, and one that I think requires careful consideration, lest we cross over the line into infringing on freedom of religion.

3) Should the US government provide free health care for illegal aliens?

I wasn't aware that America had free health care in the first place. If she did, then Hillary and all the other liberals in Congress really don't have an issue, now do they? ;-)

Other than that, I have no opinion. Illegal aliens shouldn't expect anything, including free health care, though I'm not going to complain unless the costs are enormous. Are they?

4) Should all 10 million illegal aliens now in the country be given citizenship because we can't find them anyway?

Definitely not! But I'd rather expand the limits of legal immigration than cater to the illegal kind. There are a whole host of people in this world who would love to become flag-waving Americans. And most of them will actually contribute something to society, despite what conventional wisdom says. I think with the right conservative policy, expanded legal immigration can become economically practical. And those who fear losing jobs to legal immigrants really ought to reconsider their role in paradise.
