Great idea, and i hope John will quickly upfront first tell us
if this type of redirection is possible. If so then its the best
solution to a problem that has difficult solutions that might
never see the light of day. thanks

Since John speaks of folks with strong one-sided views
that may abuse the "capture" of the original thread,
and quite frankly i am one of those having what it takes
to create a moderated thread, and if all redirction was to
have all who venture to original thread be sent to mine,
then i would rule with my version of right & wrong.
This John needs not as it just more trouble added to what
is already a degree of trouble. So my advice is to simply
have Si Admin. declare certain identified old threads that
need maintenance and ONLY upon a post request deny
it WITH a simple message stating "Declared Dead, Please
do a search on Si for newly created thread(s) that have
maintenance of stock symbol(s) and Header information.
This to me allows all Si members to create in any manner
another thread for this old un-maintained one, and NOT allow
one person such as "not-nice DougAK" to correct a problem
and created more trouble, as viewed by those who wake up
every day hoping for a reason to send me to Si Jail :o)
