The parts and service aftermarket is a $150 billion industry in North America. On behalf of Delphi, the Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance automotive aftermarket distribution group and its members will distribute Delphi products throughout North America via its 55-member warehouse distributors comprising 110 distribution centers.

Serving the do-it-yourself and professional installer automotive markets, the Alliance operates more than 3,200 parts stores and 2,000 service centers throughout the United States, Canada, and Northern Mexico.

"We've partnered with the Alliance, a highly regarded company in the automotive aftermarket, to ensure that Delphi's quality products and service diagnostics are available coast-to-coast," said Ted Thacker, general director, Global Sales & Marketing. "As vehicles become increasingly complex, Delphi has a portfolio of OE quality parts and service diagnostics information to meet the demands of technicians and consumers."

This summer, the Alliance will begin to distribute Delphi's complete product portfolio including fuel pumps, fuel injectors, oxygen sensors, Delphi Freedom (R) batteries and thermal products, with other product lines added this fall. In addition, the Alliance will distribute Delphi's suite of vehicle service and diagnostic tools, including the DS800(TM) handheld wireless solution.

"Much of the Alliance's leadership in the automotive aftermarket can be attributed to its history of providing both quality service and quality parts," said Norm Young, North America sales director. "Delphi's portfolio of high tech products and superior services will continue to support the Alliance's success."

"We are excited about the opportunity to partner with the world's largest Original Equipment supplier, and recognize the importance of being able to offer our certified installer customers the ability to diagnose and repair the automobiles of the future," said Dick Morgan, Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance president and chief executive officer. "Being Delphi's first program group aftermarket customer is evidence that the Alliance is committed to the success of independent parts stores and installers," Morgan said.

Since 1999, Delphi's global aftermarket operation has grown to include more than 1,500 employees serving 6,000 customers. Leveraging its electronics expertise, Delphi is focusing on vehicle diagnostics and repair with a systems solution approach. Delphi understands the complexity of maintaining electronic systems because it develops such systems daily for new vehicles, and can provide top-of-the line diagnostics services and OE technologies to meet changing vehicle needs.

Delphi is supporting its vehicle electronics strategy with comprehensive product support and services to help technicians meet the increasingly complex service issues surrounding automotive repair. Advanced technical hotline support, training, wireless handheld diagnostic systems and Web-based information management are a sample of the services Delphi is offering.

Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance is one of the largest auto parts distribution and marketing organizations in the world. With stores and service center locations throughout North America, they are a source for quality parts and service for over 3,200 parts stores and 2,000 service centers. Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance prides itself on responding to the individual automotive needs of each customer and providing proven, quality service.
