Complaining about referees will never cease, and like you I am tired of it.

I have thought about it a lot and unless we do something really drastic, it won't change. We are asking for one individual to do an impossible task, and while the linesmen are supposed to help, in many instances they are a hindrance.

My only suggestion, which I have mentioned it already is the use of TV cameras strategically positioned.

These days they have these mini-devises (for example the ones they use in race cars --and I noticed, even used in the net of the goals in this cup...) we could put them inside the posts as well... the corner flags looking both ways, mid-field and so on...

Next, we would have to take away a little bit of the power away from the main ref. to make video re-play viable... Yes, George, we would have to stop the game a bit, but not for too long.... OTHERWISE... I simply see no other option... I thought further about the second referee (in addition to the linesmen)... and no, I don't think that would work. We would be adding another human with the possibility of error, just like we have now.

The cameras add a new vision and with the quality of the equipment these days, the room for error is greatly reduced and possibly eliminated... so for example... in the Spanish goal... everything stops... the video is replayed (guess what the function of the fourth referee would be)... and a decision is made... I do not think that would take a lot of time...

Anyway... that's my idea.
