I consider cash in this case to be cash, cash equivalents, short and long term investments, net of any book overdraft.

Here are some recent numbers for cash according to the above definition:

28 Oct 01: $44.9mm
3 Feb 02: $40.8mm
5 May 02: $41.7mm

Going back to the end of the 2001 fiscal year, the same number was $43.0mm.

For the most recent 5 quarters, KKD has recorded $35.24mm in net income and yet has seen an outflow of cash. That might be a part of the reason why the stock has weakened. Note that the most recent decline began about when the most recent 10-Q was issued, which gave the balance sheet details.
