COGNICASE Announces Major Computer Systems Contract with
RONA/Revy Group for Western Canada
MONTREAL, QUEBEC--JUNE 25, 2002 - 10:32 EDT
COGNICASE Inc. (TSX: COG, NASDAQ: COGI), an
innovative IT solutions provider specializing in the development
and integration of transactional solutions, today announced an
agreement with RONA Inc., of Boucherville, Quebec, to install its
accounting, POS and inventory control computer systems in 29 Revy
stores based in Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia. The
arrangement also calls for the installation of a technology
interface between the stores and the Revy head office.
Aimed at upgrading the existing system, COGNICASE's OMNI
technology will enable RONA/Revy to improve efficiency, give
better control of inventory and help improve customer service. The
installations in all stores are expected to be completed in two
years.
This follows a similar agreement, recently announced, to upgrade
the computer systems in the 66 RONA/Cashway Stores in Ontario. The
pilot project has been completed and store installations are
expected to be completed in the next two to three years.
