Ray - we're in sorry times with leadership. It would not be germain except that it affects the perceptions of traders. Technically the U.S, dollar was due for a correction, but overriding that is surely a lack of regard abroad for American judgement on a range of issues including trade issues. When John expressed his admiration for Bush it was a disappointment to me. Frankly on a thread like this I'd rather not know anybody's politics. But IMO we have crass ineptitude being shown in Washington - in foreign and fiscal policy. Suddenly the values which one thought were entrenched or were in process of being entrenched eg. Civil liberties, fiscal prudence, etc., have been thrown out the window in the name of what? A bogus war without end. And the people that should be opposing this nonsense are hiding because of crass politics - mid term elections, the all powerful Jewish Lobby, etc. No candidates for 'Profiles in Courage' anywhere on the horizon. We have to pray that we get through this without serious mishaps. And what has the war in Afghanistan achieved? Power back in the hands of the warlords. Little aid for the populace and Al Quaida as big a threat as ever - at least according to Cheyney et al. How long can people be duped? And we see the head of a great sovereign state advocating the assasination of another
sovereign state - an act of state terrorism. It's surreal and pitiful - and such is the state of domestic commentary the it is allowed to happen without a murmur!
