12:52 ET FOMC announcement watched for bias change
Though no one expects the FOMC to change rates with today's 14:15 ET announcement, there is talk that policy makers will reinstate the easing bias that they removed at the March 19 meeting. Lehman has officially made that call, and others are discussing it. While an easing bias is more likely than a tightening bias, Briefing.com believes that a balanced directive remains the best bet. The economy is still on track and the Fed will not want to overtly react to today's WCOM news, which has more implications for the company and the sector than it does for the overall economy.
