The Enron Outrage Continues...

Message 17658053

Mr. Bush tells us we will investigate and hold WCOM execs 'accountable'...I wonder about Enron...What kind of message are we sending when top execs get hundreds of millions in ILLEGAL gains as they were piloting the company into bankruptcy...?? Shouldn't the former CEO (Ken Lay) and his henchmen AT LEAST have to pay back their ILLEGAL gains...?? Better yet, lets think about some serious jail time...this might start to send the right message to Corporate America where Gordon Ghecko's Greed has been running loose. Not all companies are being run without integrity BUT the list seems to grow every week. When will Congress actually fund our SEC and Justice Dept. appropriately so that we can have meaningful and effective regulation and OVERsite...?? Mr. Pitt and the SEC have been asleep at the wheel. Are they watching out for investor's best interests...?? IMHO, Bush needs to give AS MUCH attention to rebuilding confidence in our marketplace as he is giving to the war on terrorism....JMHO.

regards,

-Scott
