<Siemens given 3G TD S-CDMA go-ahead in China>

Siemens and China try a joint venture approach to getting QUALCOMM to reduce royalties. Unfortunately for them, they are a day late and a dollar short.

Siemens versus Samsung.

Korea has arrived.

Contrary to rumour in 1998's Asian Contagion financial bust, and a lot of whining from Koreans about CDMA royalties, Korea did NOT fall off the map and CDMA was NOT stopped by QUALCOMM's tiny royalty.

Koreans are now cheering, using cdma2000 flat out [the video function had to be turned off to allow voice connections - they are still primitive and haven't adopted real-time Cat's Eyes byte pricing] and giggling their way to the bank.

Siemens versus Samsung.

Good luck Siemens, you'll need it.
