<< wonder who Kleiner Perkins will send in to fix Martha's brand name?>>

LOL...it may turn out to be one of their worst investments...John Doer -- the man who recently was on the cover of Barron's -- is the partner who made the investment. He is a senior Kleiner Partner who helped pump up A LOT of stocks in the boom period...his most famous investments have been in Amazon and Netscape -- one of the firms is gone (inside of AOL) and the other is not overly profitable. Don't worry about Kleiner though...they made BILLIONS of dollars in profit in the boom period by investing early and demanding big stakes in new firms -- they often shoved these companies onto the market before they were fully incubated. Many of the VC firms were doing this since the market allowed for such and early and PROFITABLE exit strategy. Yet, today we're dealing with a whole new world...Kleiner had had to trim the size of its funds and take much more time to incubate new companies in their portfolio (like Google).
