There are two areas of potential concern with GE: fake accounting and nonperforming loans. To be clear, I have no evidence of fake accounting, rather my concern is derived from the various other companies which are restating earnings. Could GE be in the same boat? Time will tell.

About non-performing loans, I know GE capital underwrites a massive amount of loans. So far the low interest rate has worked in favour of GE, but if bankruptcies start rolling in, GE could be punished severely.

As a side note, I noticed that the money market fund where I park my money reduced it's GE Capital bond holdings by over 70% since last summer.
