Well of course they aren't if you're into retribution, if your soul demands it, if you insist that, without it, the balance of the universe is at risk. That's the point of the exercise--to see what a system would look like without retribution as a factor. If your world view is so fixed on retribution that you can't even entertain the notion of a system without it, that you can't set it aside and take a fresh look, then you can't. That's OK. That doesn't say anything about my model other than it boggles your mind. I can live with that. Lots of things boggle my mind.
