I think religion is different because of its tendency to inflame people's emotions and prejudices, as we have all seen in recent world events and throughout history. Capitalism, OTOH, is an expression of economic freedom, and our country and its Constitution was designed to promote economic freedom while discouraging religious forms of control. I think that was a deliberate choice by the brilliant minds who conceived and wrote the Constitution. They had just fled religious intolerance peppered with lack of economic freedom, and they wanted us to have something different. I am very grateful to them for that.

BTW, I recommend to everyone that they actually read the words in the U.S. Constitution once in awhile and think about why they are there. It is a powerful document.
