Laz wants them killed whether it deters crime or not, whether they are selected for death by a lottery rigged by race, sex, and class or not; whether the defendant is a juvenile, or retarded, or not; and to accomplish that end without the great expense it now entails, he would curtail the appeals process that has been designed to reduce wrongful executions.
He has proposed one good thing, which would be enthusiastically approved by the dp abolition movement: no executions in the absence of concrete physical evidence (such as DNA); eye witness, circumstantial, would not be good enough.
Have I been accurate, Laz?
Laz, how about Miranda? You against it?
Do you think the Supremes were wrong in saying that it is juries, not judges, who should decide on death or life, Laz?
I'm way behind and unlikely to catch up, so if this has been discussed, sorry. |
