Bill, I believe the answer is simple, today was x dividend day, meaning, the stock will open down approx, the amt. of the dividend it is giving, give or take a few cents. I checked my portfolio, and they all fell that amt. plus a few more cents. This month was a banner month and you can't blame anybody for taking some money off the table.(I did).
