Actually, there is another important difference here: You go see your doctor of your own free will expecting to get help.

Hardly the case with the cops who slam you down on the pavement, cuff you, throw you into the back seat, haul you off to the station house, and then beat a confession out of you in a backroom.

Or is that just good police procedure?
