<<Why does Bush continue to get high approval ratings?>>

... good question ... my thought is that he has sold himself successfully to the American public (and fairly, I think) as our friend and defender against terror ... it is almost as if we are afraid not to be supportive of him ...

<<Is the American public being duped?>>

... not in my opinion ... but with 2002 congressional elections only about 120 days away, the Democrats will portray the Republican party as the supporters of Corporate America who are crooked, dishonest and out of control ... at this point, I can't imagine the President being attacked personally, but blaming Republicans for this mess ought to sell easily on American "Main Streets" ...

... if the economy is not recovered yet in 2004, Bush could be defeated on the "crooked Corporate America" issue alone, but that is still a long time away ...

<<You still miss Bubba?>>

... no ... I am only sorry that Bill Bradley is not our President ... he would be one for the ages in my mind, but unfortunately, he will never get there ...
