I would play the trend if I know where it's going...for your example I would load the boat up and ride it. I'm looking at $UTIL index and it's broken. This is where safe money is hidding. This ain't good and may be it's the last one to get nailed who knows. Financials are in deep doo-doo with WCOM and Q and ADLAC. Wireless sector about to collasped (BK's coming). Market breadth stinks. Investors are walking away. More IPO's sucking liquidity. The trend isn't very friendly. I would play the trend if I know where it's going...
