Yeoman, to get rid of pop-ups, go to Preferences and answer YES to the question: "Do you want to use the Classic SI interface?"

The Classic, (i.e., old and not very pretty), interface takes a little getting used to, but it's actually easier to navigate once you get accustomed to it, and for some reason, THERE ARE NO POP-UPS in the Classic version.

Try it, you'll like it!
