BGR, Don't laugh. 6 months used to be the long term holding period for taxes, so it was my definition. Actually, time doesn't figure in that much. It is return. If I expect something to go up or down 20%, the key is how much and not when. Trading futures and options on futures makes this much easier, as both long term and 1 minute trades are taxed the same.
