Eric, your statement about how AG would like to see an orderly decline in the markets is exactly why I can't wait until he retires. IMHO, the Fed should be concerned about fighting inflation and helping the economy grow at maximum sustainable rates with low unemployment. They shouldn't even pay attention to the stock market. That should not be within their purview. However, AG got an inch through wealth affect theory, which allowed him to take a mile. I hope the next guy in charge will be less interventionist. It will help us avoid bullwhip, roller coaster ride, stock markets in the future.
