Because it makes me money, with which I can buy clothing and a house and food.

It provides supply of something that there is demand for. It is a service.

By your definition, there should be no professional stock traders, because they don't create anything. They just move little pieces of paper around. Your argument followed to the logical conclusion would indicate that you don't think that there should be a stockmarket at all. Because, if you don't have somebody facilitating those trades, you don't have a stock market. So, my question to you is "why the hell are you on a message board called "silicon investor"?

Tell me how buying a stock on margin produces anything. And then show me your posts whining about what parasites people are who use margin to go long on a stock. You ever use margin to go long on a stock?
