Tom,

Be glad to give some of my opinion on a few points you mentioned.

I've resisted the temptation to sell and especially wanted to today but was away from news reports as the day unfolded.

I was REAL surprised to see PRST up almost 4 pts. And glad.

I have been long on this ever since i got in which was pretty high.

Anyway, I've done a lot of reviewing of the information package received from Presstek. an anaylist report from back in Nov '95 makes a good argument for the long term prospects.

I also reread the info about Catalina Coatings and the info on them seems real promising.

I can't help but be more and more convinced of the long term possabilities for Presstek as more and more of these machines hit the street. I think they would be much better off if they were rolling them off the assembly line today instead of having to build manufacturing facilities but the report states there is virtually no competition.

As for the competition of the plates, the people at catalina coatings are supposedly some extremely bright, talented and expirienced individuals from larger companies. They did like many super-talents do. They went off and founded their own company and did things better and more productive. I forget who and what at this time and don't feel like looking it up again and typing it all. They do seem like the type of people that would know the coatings business. They aren't just a bunch that are poking in unfamiliar territory.

After reading this stuff over and over again I can see the real potential for these printing presses. I also can't help wonder how many of the investors involved in presstek haven't read that information. It seems that an awful lot of investors are focusing on today and not tomarrow.

As seen today though with the price up at the close I just wonder if the buying was by some value seekers that see a quality future product or if the buying was shorts seeking to cover.

Also after reading some of the material on the net by other printers I think the QM's will be a force to be reckoned with in the printing industry.

I hope this gives you a little insight into another opinion. As I said I have gone back and read some of this industry stuff and I think they have a future.

I also don't think that Mr Lutts is someone to manipulate a stock. WHAT's HE GOT TO GAIN? AND DOESN'T IT SEEM TO BE OBVIOUS IF THAT's WHAT HE WAS UP TO?

One thing I learned from the recent article in Forbes magazine about the NASDAQ is that an insider can only sell a limited number of shares per quarter. I think Mr howard just took advantage of an oportunity.

I would be interested in seeing some other's thoughts on the idea of these people involved in a manipulation attempt.

Happy trading

Thanks

Jim Fleming

PS I hope it doesn't seem like I am defending Mr Lutts or Mr Howard. They can do that themselves. I just am trying to see things objectively. It seems too transparent. Any comments?
