Our public schools here are great, because there is a very high degree of parent involvement, and the school administration and teachers understand that if they want us to support tax increases for them (and not send our kids to nearby and excellent private schools) they had better do a great job. And so, by and large, they do a great job.

So I don't agree with a sweeping generalization that all public schools are bad. I went entirely to public schools and I turned out....

Well, ok, some of them are bad. <g>
