I've been reading up on this driver's license case and I found out that the woman in question up until five years ago was an evangelical Christian minister, which, as I'm sure you know, scores lots and lots of points with me. I'm wondering now if she isn't a bit of an instigator like the atheist who took issue with the Pledge and whose initiative I don't approve. I would be more sympathetic to an immigrant woman who had worn a veil all her life, who might reasonably feel, when asked to remove her veil, like I might if I were asked to bare my chest.

You have to wonder just a little bit about people who spearhead these cases.

I also saw a picture of her. I've seen Muslim women in this country under various degrees of color, but I've never seen one with just that little slit for her eyes.

BTW, one of the articles I read said that she wore heavy mascara. Made me chuckle.
