White House cites global warming threat

Washington - The Bush administration warns in a report to the United Nations of significant effects on the environment from climate change but suggests nothing to deal with the heat-trapping "greenhouse" pollution beyond voluntary action by industry.

For the first time, the administration puts most of the blame for recent warming on human activity, pointing to the burning of fossil fuel that releases carbon dioxide and other heat-trapping gases into the atmosphere, according to the report released by the Environmental Protection Agency.

Wow. I'm completely impressed by the progressiveness the Bush administration has shown on this issue. How far we have come. I personally believe that we can place the stewardship of mother earth in the "vouluntary action by industry". Look how well American businesses with it's hordes of MBAs managed the internet boom. How much more proof do we need? I'm quite comfortable now. Time to go back to sleep and put the good ship on auto-pilot.
