"Is there any bloated bureaucracy other than the military which bothers you ? "
It's all bad. The priorities, tho', are with those large investments which spur further disease.
On the medical front, the pie in this country is more legal, corporate and pharmaceutical, than medical. The disease is transfer payments into, and out of, the government.
On the military front, beware of military-political complex looking for things to do. WWII was the first time we retained a fully-loaded military. Now, with the end of the Cold War, the military needs other matters to absorb its ambitions. Instead of foreign activities that spur more suicide bombers over here, we should instead focus on truly domestic security, from the borders down to the neighborhoods, including all Americans.
Instead, the elite that control the $2 trillion river of taxes into the Beltway want to keep it under their hand, and keep citizens out.
Secrecy plays a critical part of that. "National security" is the excuse. Only by impeachment or scandal is that likely to change.
Clinton? I don't know what relevance his administration has, other than allowing foreign disease be low-grade, and not actively stoking the fires of hell, just letting them burn down, and reducing, even if only slightly, the size of government.
I don't claim that to be a success, except by comparison. But I don't see the relevence to the current warlords having their way with our media, military, and treasury. |
