Are you impugning the NY Times for potato salad recipes? Yes! if you want a potato salad recipe, you can find one in your local newspaper or for free on the Internet. Local newspapers are filled with frivolous news, including recipes and they are cheaper than a subscription to the NYTimes.. The paper's coverage of "A Nation Challenged" was excellent. What a pity they can't do better than publish potato salad recipes nowadays. I wouldn't be surprised if in a future issue, they tell you how to make a cake from a Betty Crocker cake mix. If the editor wants to write about food, why doesn't he look into hunger in America? I've heard that there are many hungry people in Oregon who have no idea where they will find their next meal. I imagine it is a problem in other states as well.
