The problem here stems from the phrase "in line with", which is open to interpretation. It is also not particularly relevant to the question under discussion, which is a simple one: should the Government require a citizen to declare faith in a God even if that citizen does not believe in a God.

Whether or not adherence to any particular values is "in line with" God is purely a matter of perception, which makes it a difficult matter for discussion.
