OT,

I want out of SS too. As self employed I want out of my half, and my other "employers" half I have to kick in. I want out cause I have sufficient Life Insurance w/ cash value, cause I have a disability plan, cause I save, etc. I want out too.

But, of course there is a but, what about those who aren't as fortunate? What about those who fell on hard times and never recovered for whatever reason? What about those who just simply forgot/refused to plan or were mentally oblivious to it all? What about them? Hey they tick me off to no end, but they have to eat in their old age too?

If we, and many others opt out what happens?

Would it help any if you considered SS to be charity? Your little bi-weekly contribution to charity? Which (you never know for sure in regards to personal future prosperity) might just be there one rainy day to help you.
