what will a real estate bubble burst result in? A 10% drop of the market value of my home, a 25% drop, or just a leveling off in home price growth? It depends on the market. What is the replacement cost? I have holdings in a California coastal town where the government has driven the fees so high that building new dwellings is very expensive and nearly impossible. With supply constrained and demand very high, what will drive prices down in that kind of a market? I would be very worried in areas where people are moving away. Will people move away from the warm climates or the cold ones? I wouldn't want to own property in the NorthEast or MidWest. EP
