Yes, that is true, and I hate watching kids just get walloped. I will say, though, some of it is qualified, I do think, by attitude and "fairness". I have seen women at bus stops (in elementary school) let their kids get away with all kinds of bad behavior without a word. Then, suddenly, if one of them gets embarrassed, there is a scene, complete with walloping. What kind of message does it convey that one can act up as long as mommy is not personally embarrassed by it?
