also...in regard to the oft relied upon idea behind your statement:
"revealing all info known to satisfy idle curiosity...would reveal many secrets of the trade craft

First, it need not be an all or none process.
Second, at what point does protecting the secrets become more important than the people they're purported to protect?
What does it say about those in control of secrets when that point is reached?
Third, your use of the term "idle" is an arbitrary one.
