You are the one who keeps proposing alternatives to the status quo, which has been so universally accepted as accommodating all points of view, that lawsuits against it are undoubtedly rarer than lawsuits against the constitutionality of the income tax. /i>

I'm not trying to change the law, only be more overtly tolerant in our understanding of what we mean when we say the Pledge. My goodness. You'd think I was proposing to amend the Constitution or something. I'm fishing for ways to interpret the status quo that allows everyone to win. It's hard to see how that can be a bad thing.

I have never ever seen any public school produce a document that says that school has an official understanding of "God" as used in the Pledge (or as used anywhere else, I bet). That is an assumption on your part.

I give up. English is not my first language, that's the reason I can't seem to make myself understood. <g>
