A local case, and I don't live in a liberal area. A guy went out drinking several nights a week. That was the woman's beef. He got drunk and went to sleep in his car with his head against the window. She put the muzzle of a Remington 1100 12ga against the window and cranked off 3 shots. Not much left but she was reloading when the cops nabbed her. That's when the knife fell out.

Although he had never hit her she claimed he could have picked up AIDS when out boozing. 7 years.
