>>Clinton's a scumbag. And his true legacy came home to roost on 9/11.<<

jlallen -

Nonsense.

Here's a question for you. Was anyone in the Republican party urging Clinton to do more against terrorism than he did? Did Congress pass bills allocating billions of dollars to the war against terrorism while Clinton was President?

Did the entire free world give Clinton permission and even encourage him to attack Afghanistan (or any other country) in order to root out the Taliban and Al Quaida?

The answer is no. When he launched the missile attack on Bin Ladens base, Clinton got a lot of criticism from many of our allies around the world.

The fact is that almost no one in the U.S. was really worried about terrorist attacks on our soil during the Clinton administration. Just to indicate how hot the issue was, the subject of terrorism came up only once during the 2000 Presidential debates. (And I believe once during a Vice Presidential debate.)

If the Republicans had been screaming that more needed to be done and Clinton had ignored them, you might have some kind of point to make in saying 9/11 had anything to do with Clinton. But they weren't and you haven't.
